The Houges - Missionaries to Africa
Rev. Claude and Rhoda Houge are part of the East Africa LCMS mission team based in Kenya. Claude shares responsibilities for working with national church partners in supervising regional Mission Training Centers (MTCs) throughout East Africa. He also helps to teach and train national church leaders who come to study at the centers. Rhoda, in addition to assisting with responsibilities in the mission office is working with Mission Responders and donors to keep them informed on the work in East Africa. The MTC model has proven to be particularly effective in Africa, where the church is expanding more quickly than leaders can be trained. Hands of Christ Outreach
Hands of Christ is an outreach program created by Our Savior Lutheran Church. We have partnered with various groups within our own community and beyond to reach out to those in need of assistance in order to share God's love and fulfill our mission to "Celebrate and Care."

Past and ongoing projects include:

• Mission trips to the New Orleans area to help rebuild homes destroyed by Katrina
• Parnering with Thrivent for Lutherans to plant flowers and beautify the community
• Partnering with Progress Industries to landscape resident homes
